Best Shoplift alternatives for DTC brands that would rather not run testing themselves

Best Shoplift Alternatives 2026: seven options compared

Disclosure: the ClickMint team wrote this article, and ClickMint is one of the options listed. Every fact about another company links to a public source, and we've noted where a different option is the smarter choice.

Shoplift is a popular way to A/B test on Shopify. You set up tests right in the theme customizer, and its Lift Assist feature can generate test variants for you (Shopify App Store). It's a good tool. But a tool still needs someone to decide what to test, set it up, watch it and act on the result.

If your team doesn't have that time, the better question isn't "which app should we switch to?" It's "who should run this for us?" This guide covers both sides: apps you run yourself, and teams that run testing for you.

The short answer: best for…

A quick, fair look at Shoplift

Shoplift tests Shopify themes, templates, product pages, landing pages, prices and search (Shopify App Store). It says it supports all Shopify themes, adds its tracking script for you, and uses an anti-flicker script so shoppers don't see both versions of a test (Shoplift pricing FAQ).

Pricing is monthly and based on site-wide monthly visitors, not just tested visitors. The Core plan starts at $99 a month on monthly billing, with lower rates on annual billing and a 14-day trial (Shoplift pricing, Shopify App Store). Higher plans add price testing, advanced segmentation, personalization and a GA4 integration, and the top Managed tier adds a dedicated account manager, twice-monthly strategy sessions, a storefront audit with a testing roadmap and a dedicated Slack channel (Shoplift pricing).

So why look elsewhere? The reasons we hear most:

  • No one on the team has time to plan and run tests every week.
  • Visitor-based pricing adds up as traffic grows, so some brands want to compare costs.
  • They want deeper price and shipping testing, or checkout tests.
  • They'd rather pay for outcomes than a monthly software fee.

ClickMint: done-for-you testing for brands running paid traffic

That's us

When Shoplift is the better fit

if you have someone who enjoys running tests and you mostly want to compare themes or templates in the Shopify editor, Shoplift does that well and you keep full control.

Full disclosure again: this is us. We're listing ClickMint first because this guide is for brands that want testing done for them, not because we're the right answer for everyone.

ClickMint is a done-for-you CRO and experimentation service for DTC ecommerce brands. Our team spots what's holding back conversions and runs the tests for you. There's no app for your team to learn or manage.

Here's what we can share:

  • Speed. Our team goes from issue to live test in about 3 hours.
  • Results. +93% revenue per user and +65% conversion vs. control, across all our client experiments.
  • Experience. 80+ brands, and $315M+ in ecommerce revenue analyzed.
  • Pricing. Performance-based, not a flat software fee.
  • Setup. Your team adds one lightweight snippet. We don't need access to your store, and read access to your analytics is optional.
  • Platforms. Built for Shopify brands, and it also works with WooCommerce and Adobe Commerce. The vast majority of our brands sell on Shopify.

Who it suits

DTC brands with $200k+/mo sales and $15k+/mo ad spend who want more revenue from that traffic without adding headcount or another tool.

02

Intelligems

Good fit if

profit is the number you care about most, and you want to test prices or free shipping thresholds as well as pages.

Intelligems is a Shopify A/B testing app for prices, discounts, content, shipping, checkout and post-purchase offers. It reports profit alongside revenue on each test, using your own cost of goods (Shopify App Store). Intelligems says it is made for Shopify and doesn't run on other platforms (Intelligems pricing FAQ).

Pricing model

priced per store by monthly order volume, with modules you add on. Plans start at $69 a month at the lowest tier, with a 14-day trial (excluding Smart Pricing), and price testing carries a 3-month minimum. Intelligems also offers a white glove option where its team manages the testing roadmap, implementation, test setup and reporting for you (Intelligems pricing).

Compared with Shoplift

both test pages and themes on Shopify and both offer price testing. Intelligems goes further into shipping, checkout and post-purchase testing. Shoplift is known for testing inside the theme customizer.

03

Visually

Good fit if

you want testing and personalization in one app, with some of the work handled by the vendor.

Visually is an AI-assisted A/B testing and personalization app for Shopify. You can test from the homepage and product pages through cart, checkout and post-purchase upsells, and it includes product recommendations (Shopify App Store).

Its higher plans bring in people as well as software: monthly sessions with Visually's CRO experts, a storefront audit, engineering hours, and a set number of A/B tests executed for you each month (Visually pricing).

Pricing model

monthly, scaling with order volume. There's a 14-day trial and a free plan for development stores (Shopify App Store, Visually pricing).

04

ABConvert

Good fit if

you like Shoplift's self-serve approach but want price and shipping tests as the main event.

ABConvert is a Shopify testing app focused on revenue and profit. It tests prices, discounts, shipping thresholds, pages, themes and checkout, and it measures margin per visitor and AOV as well as conversion (Shopify App Store).

Some tests depend on your Shopify plan. Checkout UI tests need Shopify Plus, shipping tests need a plan with the Carrier Service API, price tests start on ABConvert's Growth plan, and multi-market price tests start on Scale (ABConvert docs).

Pricing model

monthly plans by included test orders, with a per-1,000-order overage. Plans start at $99 a month, with a 14-day trial on every plan except Unlimited (ABConvert docs). That's a different basis from Shoplift's visitor-based pricing, so it's worth running your own numbers.

05

VWO (now part of Wingify)

Good fit if

you're a larger team that wants testing as part of a wider optimization platform and has people to run it.

VWO has long been one of the best known experimentation platforms. Its site now presents the product under the Wingify name, and it announces that VWO and AB Tasty have come together (vwo.com). The platform covers experimentation, personalization, analytics, feature management, commerce search and recommendations, and push engagement (vwo.com).

It isn't Shopify-specific. You install a snippet once, and after that marketers can set up web tests without developers, according to its FAQ (vwo.com).

Pricing model

plan prices are quoted through a demo rather than listed on the pricing page. There's a 30-day free trial with no credit card (VWO pricing, vwo.com).

06

Netalico

Good fit if

you want a dedicated agency team, including design and development, that works US hours and doesn't subcontract (Netalico).

Netalico is a Shopify Plus Premier Partner and ecommerce CRO agency. It works with mid-market and enterprise DTC brands from $2M to $50M GMV, and its fully in-house team runs audits, A/B tests, UX and checkout work, and ongoing experimentation (Netalico).

Pricing model

monthly retainer, listed at $2,700 to $10,000 with an average around $4,500. One-time audits are available too (Netalico).

07

The Good

Good fit if

you value deep research and a senior outside perspective, and you have the internal support to act on recommendations.

The Good is an optimization consultancy with more than 15 years in conversion rate optimization. It calls its approach Digital Experience Optimization, which combines UX research and behavioral analytics with A/B testing for SaaS and ecommerce companies (The Good).

Its homepage currently leads with SaaS, so DTC brands should ask how much of its recent work is in ecommerce. Its founder has written books on optimization, and it says team members average 10 years of experience (The Good).

Pricing model

not published on its site.

How to pick the right one

Start with who will do the work, then pick the tool.

  • You have a hands-on tester and want page and theme tests. Shoplift is still a great choice.
  • You care most about pricing and profit. Look at Intelligems or ABConvert.
  • You want testing and personalization together, with vendor help. Look at Visually.
  • You're a bigger team wanting a full optimization platform. Look at VWO (Wingify).
  • You want an agency on a monthly retainer. Look at Netalico or The Good.
  • You run paid traffic and want testing done for you, paid on performance. That's ClickMint.

Whatever you choose, testing only pays off with enough traffic to reach a clear result. If you're early, research and quick fixes are often a better first step.
